About Us
Guiding Lights employs Intensive In-home and community based services as effective methods that can assist in the positive growth and development of children and adolescents who are in danger of being removed from their home and/or community.
THEORETIC APPROACHES
•Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: This approach teaches youth how to change their thoughts and behaviors so they can change the way they feel and behave.
•Parent Management Training: Helps develop the special skills needed to successfully support and maintain their children at home and in the community. This technique is based on social learning principles that assist families in fully comprehending how positive and negative behaviors are developed and maintained by their consequences.
•Multi-Systemic Treatment: This program promotes responsible behavior to decrease irresponsible behavior among family members, targets well defined problems, and changes the sequence of behaviors within the multiple systems (i.e.: home, school, community and other service providers) that maintain the identified problems.
MISSION
It is our mission to preserve and enhance the whole child so they can reach their full potential emotionally, physically, intellectually and socially in order to construct and maintain relationships with their families, peers and social structures that exist within and outside their communities.
GOAL
The primary goal of Guiding Lights LLC. Is to aid families in achieving stable, healthy home environment by reducing or eradicating problematic behaviors.
POPULATION SERVED
Guiding Lights LLC. Serves children and adolescents between the ages of five and eighteen who demonstrate severe problems in interpersonal relationships.
1.At risk of hospitalization or
2.Out of home placement because of conflicts with family or community.
Our clients must demonstrate such difficulty in cognitive ability that they are unable to recognize personal danger or recognize significantly inappropriate social behavior.
